According to ZooTierliste Antwerp houses both Tiger sorubim (Pseudoplatystoma tigrinum) and Barred sorubim (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum). I am having trouble telling these species apart and I don't have a record of exhibit signage. Can anyone help me get a definitive ID on this one?

I've looked at Fishbase for both species and I can't tell the difference. They even include the same photo for both species  You will have to find a real catfish specialist or just wait until the zoo can reopen the Aquarium (so many ZooChatters can sympathise with that :().

@gentle lemur Yeah I'm afraid I can't do much but wait until the zoo reopens and hope I guess notice some differences in the fish and/or the tank signage will give some clarity.

I really hope the aquarium and the other animal houses will be open again during the summer.

I think this is Pseudoplatystoma tigrinum, but I agree the differences are small, especially because of individual variation within the species themselves.
