Arizona Docent

first test of my remote trigger

February 16, 2021, condominium in the Tucson Mountains, Arizona.
Javelinas (collared peccaries) visit a small lawn at my condominium daily. Several weeks ago I set down my tripod to look through my lens for an owl in a tree and when I glanced back a javelina had come up and was sniffing my tripod.

This gave me the idea to get a wireless camera trigger and set up my tripod with an ultra-wide angle lens and step back to see if they would investigate. The transmitter and receiver (Aodelan Pebble) arrived at my home this morning so I gave it a try.

@Arizona Docent
I always love it when animals get really close to cameras. I remember on the Canary islands there were people with huge lenses trying to take pictures of crows, but the crows would keep sitting too close to the camera to take a good picture

@PossumRoach People say they are dangerous but that is not my experience. I mean if you are stupid and try to feed them or pet them, then yes of course they can be dangerous. But if I just quietly watch them they tend to ignore me.
