Critter Corner looks huge, but it's so tiny, basically an alcove or vestibule. I couldn't get a photo inside to show just how small, even. The herps are only on the left side and it goes about halfway back to those other doors.
@TinoPup I grew up going so I am biased a bit. People who haven’t been probably think its smaller than it is. I mean counting the exhibits/species on display its bigger than maybe all but 20 Aquariums in this country. The aquatic exhibits are also generally of good quality, albeit unchanged from the time they opened. But the outdoors has always been wacko. I mean random exhibits and inconsistent themes. Some real bad exhibits such as coatis or penguins and others like otters that are ok.
I always struggle to rank this place though compared to other aquariums I have visited.
@nczoofan The inside definitely has potential, if they got rid of all the tacky nonsense. Most of the indoor exhibits are nice (my main problem one was the pacific octopus), and the tropical tank in particular was impressive, but there's next to no signage and some of the signs that do exist are clearly for species no longer held. I wasn't sure what to expect from this place and I'm still not sure what to make of it.
