I suspect that this is one of hybrids/mutations of South American cichlids that have appeared in recent years. It may be a further mutation of the blue mutation of the Jack Dempsey, or perhaps it may be a further hybrid bred by back-crossing this fish with the hybrid 'electric blue acara' (no relation to the true blue acara, Andinoacara pulcher).
