I think this individual may be in transition from juvenile to adult male colouration: unfortunately there are many species with this basic striped and blue-tailed pattern.
Funny, I have never herd that name for this species. I usually only like to use scientific names for reptiles, basically because most importers mess the common names up. I have always seen this species labeled as "African Rainbow Skink" but that still confuses the true rainbow or fire skink with this one. It's amazing how one word can make the difference with animal identification.
