@TeaLovingDave Is this for sure the subspecies caryocatactes? Not questioning your knowledge, just making sure as it's a subspecies that I still need to photograph, and it's marked as "Spotted nutcracker (No Subspecific status) Nucifraga caryocatactes" on zootierliste.
Pretty sure; I suspect the ZTL entry (as with many on that website) is merely defaulting to non-subspecific status in the absence of any particular proof of origin rather than suggesting it comes from hybrid stock, and the individuals at Walsrode not only have noticeably shorter and more robust beaks than the proven macrorhynchos which I have seen, but moreover look pretty much identical to the proven caryocatactes at Alpenzoo Innsbruck (which are derived from wild-caught individuals from the area, I believe).
