Was Maynard out with any of the girls? Just wondering if they are back to breeding. Given his age he could go at any time so you would think they would be all about getting more calves.
They should be breeding. The adults are fairly valuable and adult male kudus usually top out at 8 years old. He is 8 so he could go any time. We know it will take awhile to get a replacement bull and the girls are 6 though they could last to 14 but their ability to breed will start to reduce. We only have one female calf to carry on the herd into the future so breeding both girls this summer seems critical unless we want to phase out yet another species.
