Wildbase Recovery is a rehabilitation centre for native NZ birds at the Victoria Esplanade Gardens in Palmerston North (in the lower North Island). Many species can be viewed here during their recovery (before release) and it also houses some permanent residents. It is free to visit.
This is the Brown Teal aviary. There is a second Brown Teal aviary in the set of aviaries for exotic birds nearby in the gardens.
