Nice shot. How much of the Maramagambo Forest is outside the perimeters of Queen Elizabeth National Park if any? And also compared from its original form, what is the percentage of this forest still intact?
According to this report Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kyambura Wildlife Reserve, Kigezi Wildlife Reserve-General Management Plan (2011 - 2021) The Maragambo Forest is comprised of two forest reserves. The North Maragambo Forest Reserve is within the QENP, the South Maragambo Forest Reserve is outside the NP but contained within the Kigezi Wildlife Reserve. The forest contiguous with the Nth Maragambo Forest to the east but outside the NP is part of two other forest reserves. Not sure how much of the forest is still intact, but I imagine there would be a significant proportion of it to be so, although with some selective resource utilisation by locals and also incursion by invasive plant species.
