mexican yellow butterflies

Wow, where was this?

@UngulateNerd92 In the wash below our condo parking lot. I have seen lots of these in the last couple weeks - even driving down my street they are all over.

@Arizona Docent ah very nice! How were you able to get a specific species identification?

@UngulateNerd92 I typed "yellow moth butterfly tucson arizona" into Google images and whittled it down. There were two other contenders, I already forget their names, but they had "cleaner" yellow wings with one prominent spot. This was the only one with the more mottled pattern. However I would not say I have 100% confidence in my id, more like 80%.
