Zoo bus stop

September 2021
The public bus stop outside Wellington Zoo - the entrance to the zoo is the building visible in the background on the left side of the photo. The bus stop has always been there ("always" as in "as long as I can remember" - I'm pretty sure it used to be a trolley stop decades ago, when they still had those in Wellington), but the animal pictures on it now were painted in 2012. On the front is a Small-clawed Otter and a Brown Kiwi. On the left and right outside and inside walls are a lion and an elephant respectively. On the inside-back is a Chimpanzee, Emperor Penguin (likely a reference to Happy Feet the stray Emperor which was famously treated at the zoo in 2011), Red Panda, and Australian Pelican (the last one at the zoo died in 2016).
