Grizzled leaf monkeys

aka Sunda langurs, Presbytis comata
Cage near servals, Howletts, 10th August 2009

I have never been able to photograph this species properly before as they are kept in a large, fairly dark, wood and wire cage in the old Howletts style. My new 500mm lens gives a clear shot, but I can't do anything about the ugly background.

Great photo gentle lemur friend , this species always seem morose , in fact is a slightly anthromorphic interpretation , but whenever i see this primates they remind me of Morrisey of the smiths , stuck up quiff of a hair , miserable facial expression of course with less arrogance though, hahaha

Wonderful picture! :D

I wish more zoos would really get their teeth into maintaining and breeding some of the more endangered leaf-eating monkeys of S.E. Asia and colobus of Africa .....
