How on earth did a place like this end up with Javan Langurs? I thought Bronx was the only holder left here in the states. Are they common in the private trade or something?
@Dhole dude I'm not a primate person, I had no idea they're so rare! I would have taken a few more photos if I had. I searched my USDA documents and only other possible holder that showed up was St. Louis. This place is breeding them, too; the one on the swing is young.
@TinoPup I wonder were they could have received these from? Good news that there breeding, as they are likely to be the last hope for the species in North America.
@Dhole dude Yeah, forgot to update this for you. Bronx and Tanganyika are the other two (USDA has them under a different species name). St. Louis doesn't, I didn't open the document and it was a hit on "javan" and "langur" separately.
