I resisted the temptation to give this image the title 'Fairies - - - - - - -' (insert an Anglo-Saxon gerund) - to avoid the risk of giving offence. The male was very noisy and continually flippered the female (note the blur in the photo). The keeper told us that some of the penguins sometimes flippered her too, but that it doesn't hurt.
The indoor area of the exhibit contains a large pool, warmed to 20°C, but it is not brightly lit and the land area is covered with these unsightly rubber mats. The penguins chose to mate on the far side of the pool, beneath the steamed-up window beside the entrance. I was surprised that the photo turned out reasonably well.
