@snowleopard Thank you very much! I can only agree! In addition to one you mentioned, I have seen TP Berlin, Chester, Vienna and the former Antwerp exhibit. Spectacled Bears definitely get attention in Europe.
Looks wonderful! Europe seems to have several great enclosures for spectacled bears, meanwhile in America we have Nashville... and Saint Louis I guess? Man, what a stark contrast. There are maybe two exhibits for Andean bears in the US that are genuinely great, and the rest range from mediocre to downright bad. This species has it way better on the other side of the pond.
I do like the exhibit, but I wouldn't have thought it is that popular here in comparison, guess I haven't seen that many spectacled bear exhibits. Luckily this is one of the newer enclosures in Duisburg and turned out good, the old one, which held kodiak bears, well, wasn't that great anymore. But you're right, it seems some european zoos put more focus on those bears now, at the moment, not far, Dortmund is also modernizing their exhibit, I hope it will be good, too
