This is a great exhibit for Amur tigers, with a wooded forest sloping below the viewing platform. The visitor area isn't perfect though, because of the angle of looking down on the big cats.
Hey @TinoPup, does the zoo still have a series of wood-and-wire cages between the tigers and red wolves? When I visited in 2012, there was a row of 5 exhibits in that general area with these species: Fisher, Eurasian Lynx, Red Fox, Bald Eagle and Red-tailed Hawk. I don't see any of those species listed on the zoo's current online map.
@snowleopard It's neat for the tigers but pretty awful for viewing and photos A lot of reflection/glare, and every viewing spot has a lot of chain link in the photo.
No! No evidence of anything like that, at all. Between them was the markhor and takin yards, on the wolf side. Nothing on the tiger side. I almost always post photos of every exhibit, unless it's a revisit.
Those five exhibits were removed about 3 years ago, they were removed as part of the future master plan, nothing has really been done oither than removing them. The summer after they removed them they added a small animatronic Dinsosaur Exhibit, and the following summer did the same but with Giant Bugs. Nothing since then, and the animals house there were not kept as far as I know.
