I love the Indigenous-themed signs. The zoo's website makes mention of the Navajo Nation Zoo being the country's only Native American owned zoo and therefore the signs are a nice cultural touch. (Here's an interesting fact: up here in B.C., Canada, the term 'Native American' or 'Native Canadian' is never used and is considered obsolete. As a teacher, I have to adhere to the curriculum and the terms used are either 'First Nations' or 'Indigenous')
Yes, normally I only include a few example photos of signage. I considered doing the same here, but I decided the information about the animals' relationship to Navajo culture was unique and potentially interesting, so I'm uploading what I've got.
