I've been to exactly a dozen zoos in the state of Arizona, but never the Navajo Nation Zoo. I remember scheduling a visit on an earlier road trip but not being able to fit it in because of the later opening time (10:00 a.m.) and the different time zone in that part of Arizona. I think that the Navajo Nation area follows daylight savings time, but it's on a different system from the rest of Arizona and even some neighbouring states.
Yeah, the time zone situation in Arizona is kind of ridiculous (more on that in my review later today). I'm not sure how the Navajo Nation does it, but fortunately in the winter Arizona and New Mexico are in the same time zone anyway.
