Nyala Grazing

I believe that this is Marwell's last Nyala, a female. Marwell had been keeping Nyala presumably since they opened in 1971, though it appears that this is all they have left of the species. I do not know if Marwell intends to add more nyala following this one's departure, though seeing recent...
For what it is worth, the hoofstock collection of Marwell is still rather impressive, if somewhat diminished in numbers. Newcomers of this year were the Visayan Warty Pig and Red River Hog, which gives me hope that perhaps some more animals will be introduced to Marwell in the near-ish future. [And perhaps a bit more nyala too :p]

If one removes the middle 'a' of the word 'nyala', it seems perhaps they can get two different terms with, to some extent, opposite meanings, in the case of 'NY' and 'LA', New York + Los Angeles - two American cities on either side of the coast.
