Banded Palm Civet Exhibit

Animals of the Night, daylights on. Nov 2021
Did you ever had the chance of seeing a palm civet, or were they just out of your sight lines on the day of your visit?

It’s great to finally see this species back on display in an American zoo! Does this make Memphis the only AZA zoo to display a species of Civet?

@Dhole dude It is not, on account of Binturong also being a civet :p

As for civets that aren't binturongs, I'm not sure; it's possible, but there have been a very small number of genets and other rare carnivores kicking around in AZA zoos so it's equally possible Memphis isn't unique.

@Coelacanth18 What I meant to say was what species which have Civet in their common name are left in AZA zoos :p. There are a handful of genets in AZA collections, although their numbers are small, and Binturongs are obviously
everywhere.
