This looks like a decent indoor gorilla exhibit. Well, @twilighter, where does Munich fit in your grand scheme of great European zoos? ;)

@snowleopard The Ape/Monkey complex is very well designed and among the best in the country/Europe. I need to upload the Chimps pictures, as well. This is my third visit at Munich zoo and I see some nice developments every time. In my personal ranking there is a top tier in Germany - Berlin zoo, TP Berlin, Leipzig and Cologne, which are hard to beat. Just after those four are coming second tier of at least 5 zoos - Munich, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Magdeburg and Wilhelma (haven't been).Tierpark Hellabrun is definitely close to the top, which means - top 6 in Germany. Being top 6 in the best zoo country in Europe, easily puts you in top 15 on the continent, with only Zurich, Chester, Prague, Wroclaw, Vienna, Pairi Daisa, Burgers, Rotterdam and Beauval (never been) claiming the other spots. Where exactly Munich stands ? The zoo is very consistent and well managed, with good to great exhibits and very few flaws (the new Lion exhibit is on the way). The question is, actually, not what weaknesses Munich has, but what they can put against the European giants. Unfortunately is not a lot. They have the history, but are missing a standout exhibit, memorable building or some extraordinary rarity. Even if I rank them number 5 in Germany, they still be on number 14 or maximum number 13 in Europe. To summarise: In my humble opinion- top 15 in Europe, but definitely not top 10.

A great recap of what could arguably be Europe's Top 15 zoos. Thanks!
