Hispid Cotton Rat is also my prevailing guess atm. Not being a rodent expert and having heard from someone that their HCR photo ID was disagreed with, I hope crowdsourcing will either validate that or provide a better answer.
@birdsandbats Probably. I just haven't logged onto iNaturalist in forever, would probably need to make a new account. Seemed like a lot of work for one photo; I felt like if 2 or 3 other people agreed on an ID it would be good enough. I'll think about it.
I have inaturalist and I use it regularly and nearly have 400 observations! I would definitely recommend as well, That's where most of my wildlife observations (that aren't here on Zoochat) are located. Mainly the ones that aren't great photo-wise.
