Penguin Cave

Pairi really went all out on this, didn't they.

@Nix Wouldn't be Pairi Daiza if they didn't. That said, in my personal opinion in this case they did actually realize a top-class animal exhibit in addition to the extravagant surroundings, which isn't always the case at Pairi Daiza.

@Nix Yes, they certainly did, but as I said before it really seems that Pairi Daiza is building better and better habitats in recent years. For example, the last 2 realized areas are very successful with immense space for the animals, also the renovated Australian area 'Southern Cape' is of good quality. Especially this penguin enclosure and the bear enclosures, and especially the polar bear enclosures are definitely of very high quality, if not world class. Also the panda enclosure, takin enclosure, seal enclosure, gorilla volcanoes (although many criticize this I find it very successful, although extra vegetation on the islands would not be out of place) and many exhibits are of high quality in my opinion. I hope that they continue this trend in the coming years with the future tropical greenhouse (will be the largest in the world) and the future steppe area, and that existing enclosures are renovated, or already good enclosures are improved.

Perhaps I should also mention that there are now not only Subantarctic Gentoo penguins living in the enclosure (see caption above the photo) but also Eastern rockhopper penguins.

In addition to Subantarctic Gentoo Penguins and Eastern Rockhopper Penguins, there are now 2 King Penguins on display in Pairi Daiza's Penguin Cave.
