Well, at the very least I can say its from 1992 or earlier with the polar bears still present

Long before Google Earth, a nice aerial view of Chester Zoo. A Zoo Chat Challenge, guess the year (and tell me why) A few clues to start... The Bridge Café, the old Parrot House, no Ha-ha at the Red Lechwes, a complete Temperate Bird House and an urn, rather than the otters in the fountain!

I suspect its quite a bit earlier than 92. My first visit was 89 and as I remember it the polar bears were recently departed and the otter fountain was well established. Pure guess: 1982.

I'd forgotten the parrot house or was there one between the aquarium and the old orangutan house.

Remember going in it.

@taun An earlier parrot house in the pic. Than the one you remember….. Alongside the Bird House (Islands in Danger) beneath Polar Bears and above Hybrid Tea Rose Garden!

I can't quite tell but is the Lion enclosure still connected to part of the stable block in that photo?
