Cassowaries kinda scare me. I mean, they look pretty cool, but they're so aggressive that if a keeper has to enter the exhibit, there has to be two others in riot gear keeping watch.
@LionTamarin At another zoo keeping cassowaries that I visited, a keeper told me they don't enter the habitat with the cassowaries; they practice protected contact from the outside instead, similar to what is done with large carnivores and other dangerous animals. I believe this is standard practice in most if not all places that keep these birds.
