One of three enclosures for brown bear at Skånes djurpark, Sweden. This is one of two old enclosures, the other old is normally not in use because it is so small. However, it is sometimes used when bears need to be separated from the others. The large enclosure in the photo is normally home to the park’s male, and sometimes the female if they are kept together. When I took this photo both were in this enclosure. When the female has cubs, they live in a new large enclosure and the male is still kept in the old enclosure. Unfortunately, the old and new enclosures are not connected so moving bears just across the road is a big project. The new bear enclosure is connected to the wolf enclosure so when there are no bears in it, the wolves will get access to this enclosure as well.
