Great Gray Owl

January 2022
After some searching I am surprised to say this appears to be the first wild Great Gray photo on Zoochat! (And yes I checked grey as well ;))
Though given the elusive nature of these owls it seems not very many members have seen a wild Great Gray, evidenced by multiple mentions of them under "What is your Wild Nemesis Species" and "Species you would most like to see."

@Platypusboy Interesting, I did a couple different searches and I didn't see that one! Must have missed it somehow. That's what comes of making such statements. :p
If I say it's the only one of the American subspecies perhaps another one will pop up!

@Great Argus I saw a wild Great Gray Owl at Sax-Zim Bog in northern Minnesota. They're quite the impressive birds, aren't they? I didn't get any photos this good though, when I saw mine the sun had almost set so the lighting was really bad.
