One unique species I saw here which was something I saw for the first time on my visit there was the Clear Creek gambusia (Gambusia heterochir), a species of fish in the family Poeciliidae. The whole extent of this species distribution range is on a parcel of private land in Menard County, Texas. The IUCN lists them as Vulnerable.
