@Mr Gharial Unfortunately you have to make a reservation for a visit within an half an hour time slot, not that bad, for example GaiaZoo had tighter slots at one point (or still might), but also not a complete guarantee if you have to drive from almost 200 kilometers away. So I'm not sure if it is practically feasible, regardless of my current issues with my own health and a disease issue with some of my pets.
Also, do you know by any chance whether anything is off-show or closed at Burgers with the bird flu issue?
Well, most birds are in greenhouses, and aren't under any threat of the virus. The pheasantry is also still completely open. Only the flamingos seem to be inside and the black swans are in with the vultures instead of the wallabies. I don't think you'll miss much.
Also: good news! The caimans are returning to Bush soon!
@Mr Gharial I read about the caimans being in the Rimba tunnel for a while, but didn't see any reason mentioned. Do you happen to know anything about that?
I've heard about wak-through aviaries being closed, so I would assume there could still be concern about humans transferring bird flue rather than wild birds. But happy to hear that little is closed or indoors.
The "flaps" that separate the caiman area were gone because of corona, everyone had to touch it with their hands to push them out of the way. They're back now, I assume because of the required qr code
@Mr Gharial Another example where zoo differ with the covid rules - at Antwerp and Planckendaels those flaps were not removed but stickers were applied on them instructing people to move them with their elbows instead of hands. Pairi Daiza on the other hand did remove them in certain areas (but not everywhere I believe).
