And yet - for a grotto it is not absolutely hopelessly awful. There is a view towards the surroundings, a living tree that provides shade in the summer, some soft substrate (the pile of sand) and the pool is not extremely small. From the other pictures uploaded at the same time as this one, we can see that he is provided with different toys.
But of course I hope he will be moved to a much better place. Like I wrote about the possibility of him going to Orsa in Sweden (in the thread http://www.zoochat.com/109/knut-51711/ ):
