Oh my god, are we returning to 20th century ? This sort of enclosure/exhibit is something I don't want to see today. @vogelcommando do you know if the spider monkeys who will live there are part of a EEP as I can't believe a coordinator could allow this.
@Antoine : As far as I know the Colombian black spider monkey's are part of the European Breeding Programm and the enclosure is not as bad as it looks. It's not just because it looks not natural but if it covers all needs of the animals, it can be a good enclosure. And the taste of the visitors can be ofcourse different...
@vogelcommando thank your for the answer and the info. Of course, the problem is not the looking here (even if it's only just awfull) and the fact it's not natural. The problem is just it's not good at all. How can you tell me it covers all need for spider monkeys. It's not tall, there is no shade at all and nothing to hide. Moreover, the metallic structure will be to hot with warm weather. What a spider monkey can do there except sleep or seat seeing arround ?
As I always say, if you can't provide the good facility don't take the animals. It's just simple and good sense. Unfortunately it arrives too much in my opinion.
