What people see from the Australia Walkabout side. Notice the lack of reptile images or branding (other than the historic sign. Funnily enough, there are no birds in the building at all). This was designed to be inviting to all guests. Even those that are uncomfortable with reptiles.

Reactions: Birdsage
I know it’s odd that birds are not present despite the sign still having the word “birds”. It would really be more accurate even if there were birds but the sign only said “reptiles”.
Also, there’s no Domain?

@Birdsage Agreed. It used to be the Bird and Reptile House until it closed in 2008 and was renovated to Scutes Family Gallery in 2012. In the renovation it was decided that it would solely be exhibiting reptiles and not birds or amphibians. The building is on the historic registry and they cannot change the outside of the building so "BIRDS" has to stay despite the only bird exhibited in the building is a barn owl in an outdoor exhibit on the other side of the building. EDIT: I forgot that this policy changed recently with two Hoffmann's Two-toed Sloths being added in late 2020 to the atrium on the south side of the building that formerly just held Western Pond Turtles but still no birds inside.

As for there not being domain, it makes sense as its purely an animal exhibit so clarifying domain isn't necessary? That's my guess.
