I saw the sterile indoor enclosure for the lions and held my breath and refrained from commenting on it, but the outdoor areas are actually worse! These are definitely not enclosures, habitats or exhibits...they are cages and badly outdated in what is supposedly a great zoo.
You have to give the zoo time to change this situation, they actually have began with it, see the jaguarundi exhibit, and only a few species of big cats have left in the building.
They can not change all cages and exhibits in the whole at the same time...The Lion inside cages are very spacious and I think, they are more worse for the visitors than for the lions.
