Going zoo to zoo across America, one of the negative aspects that really stands out, other than the dropping population of rare animals, is many reptile houses are all virtually the same. Exhibit after exhibit of the same cookie cutter terrarium. In 2015, Zoo Atlanta went against the crowd and added a twist to the idea of a reptile house with SCALY, SLIMY, AND SPECTACULAR - the channel's first standalone herpetarium. Instead of a couple hallways, the zoo dedicated a third of an acre isolated campus to reptiles and amphibians. The two building complex boasts over 100 animals, from over 70 species displayed in over 60 indoor and outdoor environments - most are beautifully crafted to rival any herp exhibit out there.
