I guess these bears rotate around these enclosures, they always seem to be in different places. That might be one of the few good things about these rock enclosures.

Indeed.

If you look close you can see an Asiatic Black Bear in background enclosure (in entrance to indoor quarters....asleep).

There were no Spectacled Bears on my visit but they were at the Tierpark (also American Black Bears there).

Between them the two zoos had all species of bear.

The spectacled bears from Berlin zoo moved to the Tierpark last year.

It's a shame ythey don't just add subsrate and more enrichment, they're not a terrible size, and if they rotate that makes it a bit better. They could just do with some soil, maybe some plants and more climbing frames.

For a rainforest species, this enclosure is a virtual moonscape.

I was under the impression that sloth bears were more of a "dry thorn scrub" species, but that doesn't make the exhibit less of a "moonscape"

They started 1965 and finished 1969 these enclosures.
