Plenty of room there for the lobster to spread his wings ;)
Could the planners not have covered the concrete lump on the left of the enclosure. mirroring the right hand side.

Still, a decent looking enclosure.

This looks nice, but I don't like the name.
I have visited the real Bass Rock, in the Firth of Forth, I can't say that I recall seeing any of those species. There may be a few kittiwakes and guillemots and the underwater life may include the species mentioned, but I saw no suitable nest sites for eiders or puffins.
In summer the only animals visible and audible are the gannets (Sula bassana no less) which are also entirely responsible for island's pungent odour.
It's like calling an exhibit Antarctica, but having no penguins :(

Looking at the photo again are the fish and lobster kept in a separate tank from the birds ?

The left hand side is another viewing window. Although I agree that it wouldn't hurt to camouflage the concrete a little.

And Kiang, there is a small pool in front of this viewing window that holds some coastal species but I'm very bad with fish and visited about 3 years ago.

This exhibit is the first in the aquarium if I remember correctly (and you don't include the sea lions that live on the outside).

There is indeed a smaller tank in front of the viewing window, housing silversides and another lobster, but theres a lobster in the main tank as well as as such shares it with the fishes and birds.

Sea birds often get a raw deal in zoos and aquariums. This is far better than the enclosure I saw at the aquarium of the pacific.
