Why does the bus have tiger, lion, bush elephant on it? Do they have these at the zoo? I thought it was north american animals only.

The zoo has over 600 animals from all parts of the world, including 4-5 lions and 1 tiger. There were 2 elephants here many years ago but thankfully they were shipped out due to the atrociously tiny paddock that they had. There are between 30-35 species of hoofstock in basic fields, as well as many other species scattered around the zoo. Check out the over 1,300 photos to see what is there.:)

@snowleopard Huh! I've always wondered if there was (or if they were planning) any kind of drive-thru tour of those back enclosures (to justify the paved roads through them). Any idea when they stopped running that?

@kermodei It was probably a decade ago when the zoo stopped running the tours through the bison/elk and bear/wolf enclosures. The tours didn't last long, because circa 2012 the new black bear exhibit was built.

@snowleopard Gotcha. Shame they stopped :( Always feels odd walking by those huge (undoubtedly the largest at the zoo) enclosures, only to see a handful of bison or elk. Here's hoping they get a freshening up as part of all the recent renovations!
