On one hand, this enclosure looks like a basic cage at first glance. But on the other hand, it appears to be fantastic with a wide assortment of climbing options, plus a very naturalistic feel with the rocks and grass.
 
@snowleopard The tour guide mentioned that grass and herbaceous plants on the ground both indoors and outdoors and lots of climbing options (also indoors and outdoors) to encourage the animal to spend as much time climbing and above the ground as possible were specifically desired by the park for these exhibits. The cage structure is quite simple and won't win beauty wards, but what is within the structure is I think quite a bit more impressive.

That said, personally I actually somewhat like the "rusty surface metal" look. I think the use of rebar-type material rather than fancier steel netting for the cages is probably a choice that was made for financial reasons resulting from Covid.

Originally they planned to do this project very differently, but so far I am quite happy with how what they eventually went ahead with came out. I hope to be able to see the finished version with animals soon.
