Temporarily unused lemur island, 2019-08-11

There was a sign saying they were doing maintenance near this island. I'm not sure which species was most recently kept here. However at the time of my visit the red-ruffed lemurs were being kept in what is normally a medium-sized cat exhibit, so this might be their normal home.
This was the island near the entrance right? In my opinion much nicer than what the abomination they seem to be creating there now for bintorungs.

@Jarne Yes, this is the island near the entrance, next to the gift shop.

What is so bad about the new binturong exhibit? I saw some images at Laafsekikkers, so far doesn't look that bad or without promise to me.

@KevinB it’s not that the new island doesn’t have potential (though it looks very barren right now, and I fear that might not change much). It’s more that this island with some new climbing structures and a new indoor enclosure would probably be just as good if not better than the new one. It mostly seems like a big waste of money, and the concrete is way less appealing in my eyes than the natural banks of the moat it had before.
