Wow, he’s a small male. Mal is of Bullens origin.

@Zoofan15 I don’t think that photo does him justice. He was having a massive sulk session because Sassy smacked him on the nose. I’ve never seen anything like it, lol

@akasha It sounds like the lionesses are firmly in charge. He could only manage them one at a time when he first arrived. A few zoos in the region have had this dynamic with wimpy male lions and fiery lionesses (Auckland, Wellington, Adelaide etc).

@Zoofan15 I think that’s still the case. Buffy was in a seperate pen at the back of the exhibit.

@Zoofan15 He does appear a little on the small side
