This 1914 building is one of the very few structures in American zoos that a visitor can enter. How this zoo is AZA-accredited (until September 2023) is beyond my imagination, as there are several subpar enclosures. Here is the indoor room for the tiger:
The building was closed for renovations (or maintenance, I forget which) during my visit, but it's clear that I wasn't missing out on much. Looks like some twisted fusion between Lincoln Park's pre-renovation lion house with the hideous rock work of Milwaukee's carnivore grottos.
