African Lion Exhibit

Pretty sad exhibit.

Not more sad than the poor cages for clouded leopards and bobcats in"Nighthunters"at Cincinnati Zoo, but the diffrence is-the lions at Kyoto Zoo do have every day fresh air, wind, rain and sun....so I would say, their living conditions are despite the space of their cage, much better than these one of tnhe poor clouded leopards and bobcats in an AAZA and WAZA credited zoo like Cincinnati...

Yes I agree there are many (too many) substandard exhibits even among accredited zoos here in the USA.

Be sure-not only in the Usa, also in germany.....but our more worse exhibits are mostly brand new and not the old ones..... especially for elephants...

I hate how carnivores especially small cats are stuck in such sub-standard exhibits in many top zoos.

The lions also had access to another outdoor enclosure about the same size as well as indoor access.

Pretty depressing cage but as already said there is much,much worse out there.
