Is this an outdoor exhibit? It’s unusual to see their species out during the day.
 
@akasha That makes more sense. The only time I ever saw this species at Auckland was during their brief but memorable stint in the nocturnal house. You never see them out in the full sun.
 
@Zoofan15 Yeah, I think the only other one I’ve seen in captivity was at Melbourne Zoo, and it was sleeping in it’s den. I was fortunate enough to see a wild one in Kruger. It’s pretty uncommon to see them, we spotted it at dawn on a cold winter morning. It was running full pelt, and we knew it was there because we could hear it's quills rattling as it ran. I guess it was trying to make it home before the sun rose. Pretty cool.
 
@akasha Hearing about your trip makes me want to visit. Especially seeing wild Chacma baboons. It’d be easier to find them in the wild than in captivity in this day and age!
