First thingsI've done at my last visit to the zoo last weekend was to visit the nighthouse in the morning, after opening at 9'o clock. There was still light in the exhibits, and I could do some good pictures.

Flashlight isn't allowed in the nighthouse.

Interesting, had i known I would have headed to the nocturnal house first during my visit.

With the lights off it was way too dark for photos.

Good hint for most nocturnal houses there, either first or last stop.

But Frankfurt isn't working that way, the Nighthouse there is opening at 9:30 and at this time, its dark everywhere.

@Sun Wukong. But the keepers do have a really big and serious problem, they can't feed the gremlins, because in the nighthouse it is always after midnight, after the keepers working day started....

Okay, Joke away. Of course there was a second species in the nighthouse, termits. Unfortunately, the aardvarks have eaten them all.

Tarsius, Sun Wukong, I'm glad you are having fun being jovial and making jokes. But people are here to learn about zoos, particularly those they have never been to. So in the future would it be too much trouble to also answer the question while you are seeking entertainment through humor?

@Ituri: Thanks for acknowledging us some humor. Yet in regard to the "learning" aspect kiang mentioned in another thread: jokingly revealing the inadequacy of fossa dude's questions and statements to him and others might also work as a learning progress. In the future, he (and others) might now think before typing and, perish the thought, even start to research on his/their own. A simple search through the Berlin Zoo gallery or the zoochat forum in general would have revealed the apt and many more information to him. In my opinion, that's more helpful than rewarding rather silly questions with "palatable" bits of information.

So in the future, dear newbie zoochat reader, would it be too much trouble to think your question through before posting it, and maybe even do a little research on your own?

There is merit to your admonishments Sun, however a search of this gallery reveals the following information "It houses 1.1 aardvarks, a breeding group bushbabies and a group springhares." However, this was posted in June of 2008, and as we all know. Zoo exhibits are constantly in flux, so this information is quite likely to have changed since then. In this case, an answering of this valid question by the photographer of this shot would seem appropriate as they have visited recently, and can provide up-to-date information.
