@Tarsius: Maybe it is just me but I have a problem with your "humour" on this forum as I find it patronizing and in general bad taste. As it can be hard to judge exactly what the other person is trying to say through the written language how about turning it down a nudge? When not writing in ones first language one should always be extra carefull as things are easily misinterpreted.
@Toddy. My humor isn't Bad taste, you're just one good example, that many zoofans like you, are don not understand humor or don't like it. I don't have an explantion for this phenomomen, because I know a lot of zoopeople,( humans, which are working in a zoo ) whith a phanattsic sense of humor, yeah, even when it comes to zoos and animals...
If you don't like my humor, thats oaky, butr a little bit of humor in an internet forum is the "salt in the soup".
" Why you so serious " ? The Joker knows what humor is, he has an unusally good sense of humor.
That's twice you have quoted the joker, from the dark knight, the same joker that is portrayed as a deranged, murderous psychopath, nice role model
Back on track, my objection to Sun Wukongs comments on this and other replies directed to fossa dude, are that he is deliberately belittling a member, for no other reason than to gain a response. There is no element of humour in his responses, it is plain nasty and arrogant, and as most of us know this is not his first time rubbing up members the wrong way.
BTW, this central portion of the antelope house, what is it used for nowadays, at one time or another it was used for wintering tropical birds, and as a South American mixed species exhibit.

Hey, I am all about the humor. But your deliberate attacks on another ZooChat member is not humor but arrogant and patronizing. Your "humor" is nothing more than pecking on other members to give yourself som sick pleasure of feeling better. You have about as much humor as Joachim von Ribbentrop. Nobody here ever said that humor is a bad thing.

Objection! Your interpretation of my reply is both incorrect and hubristic. And it's really interesting that you fail to approach me directly.
Your inability to get the joke doesn't allow you to be all huffy and play fossa dude's holier-than-thou knight in shining armour. As for the last passage of your attempted indirect rebuke: it appears you desperately want to join the rubbing up. As you wish...
If you read my previous replies, you might have understood why I wrote these not too serious replies to fossa dude's "questions". Just assuming the worst and depicting me as a jerk doesn't do anyone justice.

I have never depicted or addressed you as a jerk, in fact i have an awkward admiration for your depth of knowledge.
It is your attitude to other less informed members, we are all here to learn something new, please try and encourage, rather than swipe aside.
Its not you, its your posts.
And being hubristic, i would have replied the same whether i was a mod or not.
@kiang: Thank you for this reasonable reply. I understand and respect this explaination of yours and am glad we can find common ground.

I do try to encourage newbies. But I don't like senseless posts and questions that the querist could have found the answer to easily by him/herself.
@Kiang.In 1939, this central interior of the antelope house was used for the special exhibition of the giant panda "Happy", I know it personaly as winter zone for tropical birds and later as a south american exhibit.
today, it is just the visitor viewing area, the former visitor walkway is now part of the enlarged antelope and giraffe stalls.
