These Maras were initially from Melbourne if I can remember correctly. Melbourne imported them for a walkthrough part of Growing Wild yet exported them within a year due to (I assume) them being rather timid around visitors due to the walkthrough.
@Jambo@Swanson02 Melbourne Zoo imported 2.2 Patagonian mara from Whipsnade Zoo in late 2012. They were transferred to Adelaide Zoo in October 2013 and bred the following year. Given the life expectancy of this species, I’d imagine most if not all of their current population are offspring of the founders.
