@Sarus Crane I worked this summer as an educator overseeing day camps, this was for the "Keeper for a Week" camp. We were allowed to take the campers behind the scenes to the elephant barn for a keeper talk and training demonstration with the elephants. I took this photo from the back keeper area at the zoo's North Elephant habitat. C'Sar is massive but I'm not sure about his exact height. We got to see Artie, the largest of the zoo's males, in one of the elephant barn yards and he is absolutely massive!
@Breckenridge I saw the episode of Secrets of the Zoo north Carolina with Artie and he for sure is really tall! If he's not taller than Willy in Cleveland who's 11' he's gotta be extremely close! I wonder if Artie breeds if he'll pass on his tuskless gene?
