These are actually both Nile lechwe calves. Most facilities will not hand raise a sable calf due to how dangerous they’d become as adults if imprinted on humans. They can sometimes be rack-raised, where they are bottle-fed from a specially designed rack that removes the human connection and allows the calf to be maintained within herd, it just depends on the facility’s set up.
