in NZ now found only at Wellington Zoo, where there appears to just be two left.

thanks. They're not too easy to actually get good photos of because there's a dry moat in the front and the ground slopes up from that, and the peccaries seem to prefer to be towards the middle or rear of the enclosure where the terrain obscures them a lot.

and now none left. Sadly the zoo had to put down their peccaries in May due to old age.

apparently one of them was named ... "Animal".
I wonder how long it took to come up with that?

@dillotest0 - Animal was a character on The Muppet Show. The last three peccaries were named Animal, Kermit, and Gonzo.
