Bao Bao was born in 1978 and came to Berlin Zoo in 1981 with a female bear as a present to Western Germany. The female died only a few years later. Bao Bao recieved company again in 1995 when Yan Yan came but she died in 2007 or 2008. Bao Bao is still alive at the ripe old age of 32.
